Global success – starting from Lake Constance in Switzerland

In 1936 UNIPEKTIN AG was founded by the Schauwecker family in Eschenz, Switzerland. UNIPEKTIN AG was beside of other activities one of the pioneers of production of Hydrocolloids. Many applications developed by the dedicated research team, were introduced to the food industry over the years.

In 1955 the factory in Eschenz came on stream as one of the first factories world-wide producing Hydrocolloids like LBG, Guar and Tara. That was the start of building a global market presence.

As a result of continuous innovation in 1960 viscosity reduced and purified Guar grades were developed. These new developments allowed the food industry to work out totally new concepts which were not possible before.

In the following years the product innovation brought cold soluble Locust Bean Gum, agglomerated grades and many new applications to the market.

In 2003 in order to serve the customer with a complete portfolio the company diversified. Since then UNIPEKTIN AG has been using its excellent knowledge and distribution platform for additional Ingredients fitting to its portfolio of high quality and superior performing food ingredients.

In 2007 the ingredients business of Unipektin AG became the company “Unipektin Ingredients AG”.

During all these years UNIPEKTIN Ingredients AG has been committed to highest quality products and services. The latest development was to follow the newest regulations and since 2011 being FSSC 22000:2010 certified.

In 2012 UNIPEKTIN Ingredients AG was handed over by the Schauwecker family to a group of Swiss Industrialists making sure the success of the company continues.

In 2014 as part of the strategy UNIPEKTIN Ingredients AG entered the business of contract manufacturing like separation, evaporation, liquid filling and other services.

In 2021 Nexira acquires UNIPEKTIN Ingredients AG
